Tennessee Williams' famous play The Glass Menagerie was the second of my Mentorship 1 performances. I played the role of Jim O'Connor, aka The Gentleman Caller. This was a very challenging role for me, but I find much of Williams' work to be challenging, due to it's contrast to the theatre I want to tell (see my Artist's Statement for more information). This production was also unique due to it's double casting; our director, Kelsey Krogman, cast two people in the role of Amanda, and originally three as Tom, the narrator, though by opening we only had two in that role.

The Glass Menagerie tells the story of the Wingfield family, who's living a troubled life, haunted by shyness, ghosts of the past, and the restrictive nature of the family. When a gentleman caller is invited to court the daughter of the family, will his presence be a beacon of hope, or cause even more troubles for the family?
